Whoever coined the phrase 'sleeping like a baby' has probably never had a newborn baby. Who knew that it can be that difficult for a little baby who is supposed to get around 16 hours of sleep a day, to actually fall asleep. They grunt, gurgle, squirm and have startled reflexes that wake them up, all of which leaves the new mom poised over the crib with bleak eyes and very little sleep.
Most experts would say the best solution is swaddling. There are may different techniques of swaddling. Love To Dream came up with a unique sleeping bag for small babies that will keep their hands in the up position, later transitioning to free the hands, and then a sleeping bag for bigger babies that will last them into their 3rd year.
